District 23-2A Baseball All-District
The district’s top-two playoff teams, Beckville and Gary dominated the Dist. 23-2A All-District Baseball selections released this week. District Champion Beckville captured MVP, Offensive MVP, Defensive MVP and Newcomer of the Year, as well as Coach of the Year honors as named by the district’s coaches.
On the first team, the Joaquin Rams had four members, with the Shelbyville Dragons adding two, and the Timpson Bears and Tenaha Tigers with one each. Joaquin was the third and final playoff representative from the district.

Former Panola College Ponies playing in World Series
Two former Panola College Baseball players are headed to Omaha to play in the NCAA Baseball World Series. Preston Guillory with TCU, and Brett McAfee with Arkansas will have the opportunity to play on the biggest stage that college baseball can provide. McAfee and the Razorbacks qualified by beating Missouri State in the Super Regionals at Fayetteville, AR. While the TCU Horned Frogs and Guillory took 16 innings last night to finish off the Aggies of Texas A &M at the Fort Worth regional. Preston was a two time All Conference pitcher for the Ponies 2013 and 2014 squads. McAfee was on the 2012 Panola Ponies team. The NCAA College World Series will begin Saturday, June 13 in Omaha, NE.
Center Lady Rider Athletic camps set
The Center Lady Roughrider Athletic Program is hosting a Volleyball Camp on July 6th-9th from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Center High School Gym. It is for Incoming 5th graders through 9th graders. The cost will be $20 for individuals or $35 for two children families. Pre-registration is from now until June 29th.
