Timpson Frontier Days' Pony Express arrives in Center with invitation to annual event July 2-5

The Timpson Frontier Day Pony Express arrived in Center at the courthouse with an invitation to the annual event Monday afternoon. Horseback riders Danny Dixon and his daughter, Sarah Dixon "made the mail" inviting Center and surrounding communities to attend Frontier Day July 2-5. Pictured (left) Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell, Timpson Mayor Debra Smith, Center City Councilwoman and Shelby County Chamber of Commerce representative Leigh Porterfield, Shelby County Judge Allison Harbison, Timpson Chamber of Commerce's Marilyn Corder, Rosie Dixon, Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador president Meg Camp, and Dennise Meek of Farmers State Bank. Monday's entourage had earlier stops in Mt. Enterprise, Garrison and Joaquin. Tuesday's pony express schedule includes: 10:30 am in Tenaha at City Hall; 11:00 am Gary at City Hall; and at 11:30 am in Carthage at the Texas at the Country Music Hall of Fame. From a gospel signing concert, carnival, arts & crafts, contest, street dance featuring Charlie Robison to other fun and events, everyone is invited to the Timpson Frontier Days.
