An act of heroism in Timpson Friday night as a man noticed smoke coming from a unit at the senior citizen apartments near the school and reportedly pulled a resident to safety.

Our Town Times newspaper reports Dustin King, also a resident of the complex, was walking past the apartment and noticed smoke and was able to locate the occupant, Cathie Raymond and help the elderly resident from the building with no injuries reported. 

The Timpson Volunteer Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire before it could spread. The online article says the cause of the fire is believed to be an electric blanket. An investigation continues.
