It's rodeo week in Shelby County, Judge Harbison signs proclamation, "wear your boots to work" Friday

It is rodeo week in Shelby County and the 62nd annual Shelby County Sheriff's Posse Pro Rodeo is at 8 p.m. Friday & Saturday night at the Shelby County Expo Center.

 

Boo Klein is Sherriff's Posse President and encourages you to bring the family out for all the excitement.

 

The rodeo is sponsored by the Shelby County Sheriff's Posse, Wright Chrysler Dodge Ram and Klein Brothers Rodeo.

 

Tickets are the same price, pre-sale and the gate, $5 each, with kids under 5 admitted free. You can get pre-sale tickets at Wright Chrysler Dodge Ram, Boles Feed and Triple J Feed.

 

By the way there will be a great concession stand sponsored by Providence Missionary Baptist Church in support of their Belize mission trip.

 

Tuesday, Shelby County Judge Allison Harbison signed a proclamation declaring it Rodeo Week in Shelby County. Friday is “Wear your Boots to Work Day”.

 

As part of the rodeo the 2015 Shelby County Sheriff’s Posse Queen, Duchess and Princess will be crowned Saturday night.

 

Pageant co-ordinator Ann Blackwell has announced the candidates.

 

For princess, contestant is 10-year old Gracie Leach, a 4th grader at S.W. Carter Elementary in Shelbyville. Her parents are Mark & Jennifer Leach.

 

Duchess contestants are 12-year old Sherry Sells, a 7th grader at Carthage Jr. High and 12-year old Cheyanne Barrett, a 6th grader at Tarkington Jr. High.

 

Queen contestants are 17-year old Morgan Leann Patton, a junior at Joshua High School in Crowley, Texas; 21-year old Scarlett Addington, a junior at Lonestar College in Kingwood; and 21-year old Amanda Chmielewski, a sophomore at Blinn College in Bryan.

 

We invite you out to Wright Chrysler Dodge Ram this Friday from 11 to 1 for our “rodeo radio remote” to meet reigning SCSP Rodeo Queen Harli Cowdin of Grand Cane. She’s also Miss Rodeo Louisiana and will be competing for Miss Rodeo America in December.
