DETEC reporting 4500 without power, other storm damage overnight

According to Brittney Johnson, Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative communications specialist, there are approximately 4500 members currently without power. 

 

Outages are widespread acorss the system. Crews have reported servarl poles and lines down due to high winds overnight.

 

She says as always, crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.

 

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department reported several incidents of tree blown over on roadways overnight, including FM 414 and FM 2694, which have been cleared.

 

The City of Center also had a tree blown over in the 900 block of Crawford Street, which had a power line entangled, which has since been cleared.

 

Center Broadcasting has also had reports of wind damage widespread across the area at a number of residential areas.

 

We are expecting another round of thunderstorms between 5 and 8 p.m. today.
