Weather Update @ 9 a.m.

The NWS indicates that there are some isolated rain showers and Possible T-storms developing across portions of our area and will continue to develop.  This activity will increase by mid afternoon and evening.  The activity will move to the North East from near Lufkin to the Toledo Bend area.  This earlier stuff will vary from a trace to a few hundredths of an inch in rain fall this morning and is widely scattered in nature. You can see the closest to us is in the Moscow area south of Diboll and Lufkin and the movement is to the NE.  I will have a more detailed view of the next 10 days after the NWS briefing at 10 am this morning.

Why all this activity? Yesterday, Dr Jeff Masters said this year and especially this April has had the highest moisture content at all atmospheric levels ever recorded. Even just a dry line can squeeze out that moisture. We have been fortunate that we are still not seeing many severe storms.
I will write up a short explanation on what we are seeing, why sometimes a T-storm looks ominous & intimidating, and send it out to everyone later in the day. I will also include some information on how to sort out the good, the bad, and the just ugly stuff.Tom JohnsonKTXSANAU6
