Former JP Pct. 2 Burt Furlow honored with reception Wednesday

Former Shelby County Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 O.B. "Burt" Furlow was honored with a retirement reception Wednesday, April 15 in Shelbyville. Friends, family, former county elected officials, present county elected officials and law enforcement turned-out to wish him well. 'Judge Furlow' served the office for 30 years, deciding not to seek re-election last year. He said he tried to "treat everyone fairly without partiality, and had a lot of fun doing so." 'Judge Furlow' said he's "got a lot of friends, the Good Lord had been good to him, and he appreciated the people of Pct. 2 for putting him back in office during re-election time." He also thanked his fellow judges, saying they had been good to him. The reception was held at the open house for the new JP Pct. 2/Constable Pct. 2 office, located behind Farmers State Bank in Shelbyville.
