Timpson woman injured in two-vehicle accident Friday morning

Timpson Police Officer Jacob Metcalf investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of US Hwys. 59 & 84 late Friday morning that injured a Timpson woman.

 

Officer Metcalf said a 2001 Dodge 3500 dually truck, driven by Victoria Mendoza of Jacksonville, heading east on Hwy. 84, failed to yield right-of-way to a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup travelling southbound on Hwy. 59, and driven by Isaias Cruz of Timpson around 11:30 a.m.

 

A passenger with Cruz, Kimberly Leonard of Timpson was taken by Timpson Volunteer Ambulance to Center Emergency Department for treatment of unknown injuries.

 

Officer Metcalf said Ms. Mendoza was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and no driver’s license.

 

Assisting at the scene were DPS Troopers Dustin Ramos and Jade Lavergne and Timpson Police Chief Kent Graham.
