Cows struck on Hwy. 7 west of Center for two-straight mornings

Cows standing in the roadway are not good, especially at night. For two straight mornings motorist on Hwy. 7 west between Aiken and Grigsby have struck livestock that were in their path in the early-morning hours.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department tells us a Tyson feed truck hit two unclaimed cows Tuesday around 2:30 to 3 a.m., and then again this morning, in the same location and around the same time, a one-ton dually hit a cow.

There was no injury to either driver, just damage to both vehicles.

Of course with grass greening-up and livestock set on go, unfortunately fences will sometimes give.

Livestock owners are encouraged to make sure their fences are secure.
