Hubbard said to be exploring ministry area with departure from San Augustine

We told you yesterday that Donald Hubbard will be leaving the San Augustine ISD as athletic director and head football coach after four seasons.

The 27-year coaching veteran responded to our request as to his future, and said he would be pursuing opportunities in the ministry area. He said he and his family had enjoyed their time in San Augustine and holds many great memories of the success they have accomplished in athletics, facilities and building relationships.

Coach Hubbard said he wished nothing but the best for the San Augustine student-athletes and said he expects to continue to read about good things from the program and the direction it's headed.

The San Augustine ISD Board of Trustees and a selection committee have started reviewing applications and Superintendent Virginia Liepman tells us they're hoping to have a new AD/head coach in place within the next month.
