The CHS Theatre Department will proudly showcase two very different sources of talent in its 2015 Spring Flingfeaturing five excellent scenes from first year students as well as a second-showing of the District Champion One-Act Play by Woody Allen on Tuesday March 31 at 6:30 in the CHS auditorium.
The scenes are from Theatre I students who worked on a "five-minute short" for most of the fourth six-weeks. They performed these scenes in class for a small student audience, then their classmates chose these scenes to represent them in a night show for the public. Here are the scenes and their performers:
Point of View--Jerquiita Williams, Haley Denby, Taylor Amburn
Swan Boats--Johan Gonzalez, Jacoryan Jordan, Lily Reynolds, Lexi Baldwin
How Do I Look--Madison Agnew, Macade Perry
Dinner with Daddy--Mitchell Johnson, Lexi Parker
Players Lair--Kyle Parks, Alysen Jefferson, Brennah Berwick, Victoria Duvon
The evening also features the One-Act Company and its One-Act Play by Woody Allen. The district-winning play features performances by Honorable Mention All District performers Chloe Gibson and Brady Wood, All-District performer Austin Wright, and District MVP-Best Actor Chris Caudle. In addition to tonight's performance, the company will perform at Panola College's Martin Auditorium at 2:00 on Wednesday April 8 for the bi-district competition.
Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Four of the scenes are rated G and suitable for all ages. One of the scenes and the One-Act is rated PG for mild language and innuendo. They are appropriate for most students 4th grade and up. The evening should last about 90 minutes,
including a 10-minute intermission during which refreshments will be on sale.
