WWII seminar brings together Veterans and students this morning in Center

If you're a World War II Veteran or just a history buff, you'll want to attend this morning's World War II seminar at the Windham Civic Center in Center.

Sponsored by the Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and Ladies Auxiliary, along with Center High School History teacher Heaven Umbrell, the hand-on learning experience should be a great learning tool for students.

In an interview last week on Chris Watlington's "This Week in Shelby County" program on KDET, Ms. Umbrell said the study of World II by her class peaked the interest of students, and she wanted them to know Shelby County's part in the "big picture" of history.

All World War II Veterans are invited to attend this morning's seminar and if like, talk to the students about your experiences and allow for questions from students.

Also, Hans Polk of Timpson, whose family were Holocaust victims will also be participating.

The public is invited and there's no admission.
