Workforce Solutions to host Youth Career Fair Tuesday

Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas will have a Youth Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Windham Civic Center in Center. Site Manager LaTreaser Cartwright says the event will include employment opportunities, connection with local businesses and organizations, plus, resume' and application assistance and even mock interview. There will also be a Career Assistance section to let attedees know the types of occupations available.

 

Which includes The Texas Department of Criminal Justice , ACE EMS, Center Fire Department, U.S. Marshal's, Deep East Texas Child Care Agency, Our Town Times newspaper.

 

Ms. Cartwright offers up advice to young adults that plan to attend Tuesday's career fair. She says to be well prepared, know some past work history, dress the part as if you're going for an interview, and also assisting career fair attendees with what to say and other skill training.

 

Even if you're not looking for a job, there's educational opportunities and other resources availabe through Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas.

 

She invites all youth from 18 to 21 that have either heard or read about the career fair to come out Tuesday, whether you're looking for a job or not. She addes Panola College will be there providing information about courses and training.

 

She extends an invitation to attend and see what services are provided by Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas. That's from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Windham Civic Center.

 

Confirmed employers attending the career fair are Tyson Foods, Portacool, Jennings Place, Shelby Savings Bank, Burke's Outlet, Job Corp, the U.S. Navy, Advanced Temporaries, and E-Tech. In addition to Tri-County Community Action, Goodwill Industries, Panola College, Green Acres Nursing Home and the City of Center.
