Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces that 79-year old Burnice Lareed Griffin of Center passed away Saturday at his residence. His wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Among Burnice Lareed Griffin’s survivors is his wife, Debra Griffin of Center; children, Stephen A. Griffin and Jennifer & Dean Windham, all of Center; sisters, Bobbie & Troy Roberts of San Augustine, Barbara Cruse of Center, Brooksie & Roy Tindle of San Augustine, Betty & George Schull of Huxley, Beverly & Larry Hendrick of Center and Brenda Renfro of Lufkin; brothers, Ray & Ilean Griffin and Ben Griffin, all of San Augustine.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces service for 50-year old R. Scott Watson of Center. He passed away while on a hunting trip to Kansas. He was the owner of Watson & Sons Funeral Home and Garrison Funeral Home. Service will be at 11 a.m. this morning at Watson & Sons Chapel. Among R. Scott Watson’s survivors is his wife, Selena Harbison Watson of Center; children, Stephen & Lynsie Watson of Shelbyville, Stephanie & Cameron Copelin of Center, and Sean Watson of Center; parents, Bobby & Kay Watson of Center; and sister, Angela & Gary McDonald of Center.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of service Sunday for 91-year old J.R. “Red” Owens of Joaquin. He passed away Friday in Nacogdoches. Service was held at Watson & Sons Chapel, interment at Price Cemetery in Joaquin. Among J.R. “Red” Owens’ survivors are son, Richard Todd & Renee Owens of Missouri and John Mark Owens of Joaquin; sister, and Edith Swan of Joaquin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Washington, D.C.

 

Mangum Funeral Home announces service for 79-year old Harold Donece Oates, of Nacogdoches, a longtime resident of Shelby County. He passed away Friday at Nacogdoches Medical Center. He worked for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department as a Game Warden for 30 years. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center with the last call given by the Texas State Game Wardens. Visitation will start at noon Tuesday until service time at the funeral home. Among Harold Donece Oates’ survivors is his wife, Pauline “Polly” Oates of Nacogdoches; son & daughter-in-law, Steve & Susie Oates of Nacogdoches; daughter, Terrie Oates McAden of Rockwall; and brother, Daryl & Ann Oates of Humble.

 

Garrison Funeral Home was in charge of service Saturday for 91-year old Marcelle Ramsey Cobb of Nacogdoches. She passed Thursday. Service was held at Stockman Church. Among Marcelle Ramsey Cobb’s survivors is a daughter, Connie & David Beard; sons, Tim & Stephanie Cobb and Brant & Pamela Kerr Cobb.

 

Wyman Roberts Funeral Home of San Augustine announces service for 64-year old Ronnie Lee Quinn. He passed away Saturday in Lufkin. Service will be at 10 a.m. this morning at Chinquapin Baptist Church. Among Ronnie Lee Quinn’s survivors is his wife, Anita Quinn of San Augustine; daughters, Pamela & George Freshour of Arizona, Tammy Faver of Bronson, Jeanie & Rudy Gray of Clovis, NM, and Karen Gray “Cricket” of San Augustine; son, Mark Allen & Rosie Hernandez of Lubbock; mother, Bennie Quinn Brooshire of San Augustine; sisters, Nancy & Paul Bryan of Zavalla and Debbie & Larry McBride of San Augustine; brother, Anthony & Mary Quinn of Kentucky; and sister-in-law, Barbara Faye Quinn of San Augustine.

 

Wyman Roberts Funeral Home of San Augustine announces service for 91-year old Mrs. Hazel Marie McGee of San Augustine. She passed away Saturday in San Augustine. Service will be at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, with burial at Dickerson Cemetery in San Augustine County. Among Hazel Marie McGee’s survivors are sons, Sam Jr. McGee, Danny Ellis McGee, Burbon Thomas Sr. & Tiffany, and Rayson Anthony McGee, all of San Augustine; daughter, Martha Hightower of San Augustine; brothers, Burbon “Punk” Burns of San Augustine, James & Judy Burns of San Augustine, and Jesse & Frances Burns of Palestine; and sisters, Octavia Belt of Alto and Emma Lou Martin of San Augustine; and sister-in-law, Ruby Burns of Shelbyville.

 

Wyman Roberts of San Augustine is in charge of a graveside service for 50-year old Charles Dewayne Sowell of San Augustine. He passed away Saturday at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sowell Cemetery, San Augustine County. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home. Among Charles Dewayne Sowell’s survivors is his wife, Vicki Sowell of San Augustine; sons, Chris & Ashley Sowell of Chireno, Jeffery & Jamie Sowell of Greenwood, Ark., and Terrance Sowell of Chireno; step-children, Latisha Thebeau of San Augustine, Heather & David Cope, both of Missouri; brothers, Curtis & Jinny Sowell of Huntington and Mike & Linda Sowell of Lufkin; and sister, Nancy & Mike Whitmore of San Augustine.
