J.R. “Red” Owens, 91, of Joaquin, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 in Nacogdoches.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Jody Hooper officiating. Interment will follow at Price Cemetery in Joaquin.
Mr. Owens was born January 26, 1924 in Logansport, Louisiana to Ernest Owens and Alice Stephens Owens. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Owens was a member of Joaquin Masonic Lodge #856 and a deacon at Fellowship Baptist Church in Joaquin.
