Panola Ponies take OT win over Bossier Parish, 85-81

Bossier, LA-  The Panola Ponies got off to a slow start in Wednesday night's road matchup with the Bossier Parish Cavaliers.  The Ponies fought back as they went on a 10-2 run. At the ten minute mark in the first half the Ponies trailed 17-19, but offensive miscues and turnovers lead to their eight point deficit at the half, 32-40.

Much like the first half, the Ponies got off to a sluggish start and trailed by as much 17.  Due to great perimeter play by Tommy Heard III and Brendt Pickens the Ponies were able to cut the lead to three.  With four seconds remaining in regulation Pickens connected on a game tying three pointer.  During overtime the Ponies connected and executed on the offensive end, eventually winning the game 85-81.

Numerous Ponies filled the scorebook; Tommy Heard III (20), Brendt Pickens (17), Joshua Morris (11), Jamie Rutherford (10), Israel Omigie and Richad Mazique (9).

The Ponies follow up with action at home versus the ParisDragons.  The conference matchup will be held on February 7 at Carthage High School at 4 p.m.
