Speed limit changes coming to Hwy. 147 from San Augustine County to Zavalla

Motorist will soon see changes in the speed limit on State Hwy. 147 from the San Augustine County line to the Zavalla city limits in Angelina County and at the Broaddus city limits.

 

According to TxDOT, speed limits will change after an engineering study revealed the speed limits will promote a more efficient traffic flow.

 

TxDOT maintenance crews will install new signs on State Hwy. 147 that will lower speed limits from 75 mph to 70 mph for a 4.8 mile section from San Augustine County to the Angelina County line.

 

In addition, the speed limit will change from 55 miles per hour to 60 miles per hour along a .20 mile section at the city limits of Broaddus.

 

Motorists are warned to abide by the posted speed limits and other traffic control devices on this and all roadways.
