World War II Seminar has change of venue, moved to Windham Civic Center on Feb. 10

The seminar on World War II and Shelby County’s participation scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. has a change of venue. It will now be held at the Windham Civic Center, instead of in the class room at Center High School.

History students at CHS will receive a special treat and hands-on learning thanks to Shelby County Veterans, as Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Ladies Auxiliary will be at the Windham Civic Center to discuss the events of World War II.

Post Quartermaster Larry Hume says all World War II Veterans are cordially invited to attend. Center High School teacher Heaven Umbrell and VFW Post 8904 are sponsoring the event.

Hume said Veterans will talk to students about their experiences and allow for questions. He added this is a great opportunity for our youth to understand the service and sacrifice that went on from 1941 to 1945 that only a WWII Veteran can tell.

The public is cordially invited and special invitation is given to all World War II veterans.

Hume said they would like to recognize your service and sacrifice.

If you're a World War II Veteran and would like to participate, or just attend, you're asked to contact Larry Hume at 59802976.
