A stolen vehicle from Smith County was recovered just outside the Center City Limits Tuesday afternoon.

 

According to Center Police Dept. Lt. Jeremy Bittick, while on patrol around 3:10 p.m., he observed a silver 1995 Dodge pickup on the side of Old Neuville Road, just outside the city. He said the vehicle appeard to have been sitting there for several days, parked in a conspicuous manner, away from buildings or residents.

 

Lt. Bittick said he ran the license plate through dispatch for confirmation of any possible stolen reports and it came back as being stolen.

 

Upon further investigation by Center PD Detectives Stephen Stroud and David Haley, a complete inventory was performed.

 

The vehicle was transported by Joey Ross Wrecker Service to Center PD where it's being held for further investigaton by Smith County authorities.
