A Shelby County family lost their home and belongings to a fire early Saturday morning. A fire call went out shortly before 2:30 a.m. to the home belonging to Keith and Lisa McKnight on FM 1645 in the Buena Vista Community.

Timpson Volunteer Firemen, with assistance from the Tenaha Volunteer Fire Department and water from the Center Fire Department fought to contain the blaze.

A heat lamp that was plugged to an extension cord that led into the house is believed to be the source of the fire.
