Parents of child mauled by dog returned to Shelby County, another man arrested for removing animal from the scene

We want to bring you up-to-date on an incident involving a dog attack on a three-year old Timpson area child Oct. 22.

That child continues to recover from serious head injuries at Texas Children’s Hospital in Dallas from bites sustained from a pit bulldog at its home in the Rose Hill Community.

The child’s parents, 20-year old Leanne Fox and 27-year old David Parks, who were both arrested in Dallas County and charged with Injury to a Child the next day, were both transferred back to Shelby County last Friday, and remain in the Shelby County Jail.

It’s reported the parents were asleep when the child was attacked.

Another individual, who’s been identified as 18-year old Thomas Chase Lee was arrested over the weekend and charged with /tampering evidence after he removed the animal from the scene. He has made bond. It’s not known if the dog belonged to Lee. It was picked up by authorities and placed in quarantine.

Leann Fox was indicted by a Shelby County Grand Jury in September and charged with Criminal Negligent Homicide Injury to a Child in the death of a toddler child that reportedly drowned in a bathtub.
