The 24th annual San Augustine Sassafras Festival is set for this Saturday, Oct. 25. There will be arts & crafts booths, food booths, live music, a kid's alley and costume contest, hot dog eating contest, photography contest, old fashion fudge making contest, the Ray Estes BBQ Cook-off on Friday, Oct. 24, and pet show, plus the business fall decorating contest, the San Augustine High School Grand Reunion, the Alzheimer's Walk and much more. Deadline for entries in the Photography Contest is today, Friday. All photography will be displayed on the first floor of the courthouse. Ayish (Eye-ish) Hall’s Sassafras Festival Fall Music Show will be held at 7 p.m., Friday Oct. 24. There will be family friendly fun Country Music Entertainment featuring The Sugar Moons, The Dusty Boots Band, Missy Monroe and The Texas Tumbleweed. Tickets are $6 at the door with concessions available. Ayish Hall is located at 825 W. Columbia in San Augustine.
