Funeral Notices: 9/22/14

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces a memorial service was conducted for 85-year old Jeanette Lorraine Rhodes of Shelbyville. She passed away Friday in Tyler. Among Jeanette Lorraine Rhodes’ survivors is a step-daughter, Betty L. Rhodes-Shapiro of California; sons, Earl, Mitchell and Miguel Rhodes of Dallas; daughters, Michelle J. Berry of Dallas, Marclalynne “Lyndl” Rhodesfields of Tyler and Myra L. Fields of Boise, Idaho; brothers, Willie G. Booth and Jimmy R. Booth; and sister, Margaret J. White.

 

Watson & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of service Sunday for 80-year old Patrick O’Neal Buddin of Center. Service was held at First Baptist Church in Center, with interment at Oaklawn Memorial Park. He was the owner and CEO of Toledo Finance Corporation. Among Pat Buddin’s survivors is his wife, Peggy Buddin of Center; son Jason Patrick Buddin of Austin; daughter, Adrienne Buddin Schoelpple of Austin; and sisters, Lois Ann Coker of South Carolina and Mary Gayle Paul of Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to the Pat and Peggy Buddin Scholarship Fund at Stephen F. Austin State University.

 

Mangum Funeral Home announces service for 104-year old Grover Cook Hicks of Center. She passed away Sunday at Pine Grove Nursing Home in Center. Service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery in Center. Visitation will be this evening at Mangum Funeral Home. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone where she was an operator for many years. Among Grover Cook Hicks’ survivors are first cousin, Murel Bush Thomason of Center and her family; Betsy & Dan McDonald of Houston; Yondi Watson & family of Center; and Yanci & Ron Hendricks & family of Huxley, Brandi & Steven Sikes & family of Houston, and Ashli McDonald of Austin.
