East Texas Poultry Festival holds Welcome Party for Queen's Court

 
 

The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce held a Welcome Party recently to introduce and welcome the 2014 East Texas Poultry Festival Queen’s Court. Reigning Queen Macayla Perry spoke to the young ladies summarizing her experience of 2013 and gave them some insight as to what to expect. Each candidate introduced themselves and their parent prior to enjoying dinner together followed by selections from the dessert table.

 

The upcoming schedule and pageant rules and guidelines were reviewed. The Queen’s Court program has a month long schedule of events including a Luau and a Social as part of the enrichment program for the candidates and their escorts prior to the scholarship pageant. There are representatives from Joaquin High School, Shelbyville High School and Center High School in the 2014 Court.

 

The Queen’s Court committee led by Chairman Caroline Hutchins, includes, Heather Moody, Shanell Ruiz, Kay Fairchild and Jesse Wiggins.

 

The Coronation, sponsored by AEP / Swepco, will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Center High School Cafetorium when the eleventh grade high school students will be presented to Shelby County. Reserved tickets must be purchased in advance by contacting the Chamber at info@shelbycountychamber.com or calling 936.598.3682. General admission tickets may be purchased at the door.
