The Center ISD Board of Trustees adopted the new Fiscal Year Tax Rate and Budget at their meeting Friday afternoon. The tax rate will remain unchanged at $1.33 per $100 valuation, to help support a Maintenance and Operation Budget of $21.4 million, the National School Lunch & Breakfast Program Budget of almost $1.6 million, Interest and Sinking Budget of almost $1.3 million, and Construction Budget of $100,000.

CISD Superintendent Dr. James Hockenberry said the CISD has been able to come through with staff increases and above all, provide for the education needs of the students, including the increased digital learning initiative. The adopted tax rate remains unchanged for the fourth-straight Fiscal Year. He added despite the cut in state funding, the CISD was coming out of that situation now.

Dr. Hockenberry added the new Budget has increased by some five percent.
