Follow-up: DPS says Polk County marijuana find was valued at $175 million

The Texas Department of Public Safety is saying the marijuana discovery in Polk County last weekend contained about 100,000 plants worth an estimated $175 million.

The fields were found by a deer hunter near Goodrich, and were part of a sophisticated growing operation that used water from a nearby creek to hydrate the marijuana.

DPS says the discovery nearly equaled all such outdoor seizures for all of 2013 in Texas.

A campground was also found on the isolated site.

Authorities say one man found in the woods was been arrested, and more are being sought.
