The lead singer for Shelby County based, The Ashton Hill Band, Stephen Stroud will be furthering his musical career when he signs a publishing contract with “Mike and Joe Show Entertainment” at Banita Creek Hall in Nacogdoches Saturday night.

According to a press release on the night spot’s Facebook page, Stroud has been traveling back and forth to Nashville learning the music business and writing songs with a number of veteran writers the past four years.

Stroud says the process has taken a lot of time and hard work to be recognized as a serious song writer, but the effort has paid off and now the real work begins.

The Ashton Hill Band is also to perform at Banita Creek Hall tomorrow night.

Mike and Joe Show Entertainment” was responsible for finding Tracy Byrd among others.

Stroud grew up in Orange County and has been playing and signing in country bands since he was a small child.

When he’s not picking, singing and writing, Stroud is an investigator with the Center Police Department.
