The 25^th annual What-A-Melon Festival sponsored by the Center Rotary Club will be held July 10-12 in downtown Center.

Among the festival events are a carnival, a variety of vendors and live music, including gospel music on Thursday, July 10.

Don’t forget, entries for the Largest Watermelon Contest are being accepted thru today, July 4.

Watermelons MUST be grown in Shelby County, and be attached to the vine when judges assign numbers.

Event organizers way it’s the responsibility of each contestant to make sure that the entry form is received by the deadline.

Entry forms are available at Brookshire Brothers Grocery. All completed forms will be need to be returned by today, July 4, to Brookshire Brothers, or faxed to Chandra Atholi at 936-591-8884 or mailed to her attention at 301 Wulf Creek Drive in Center.

By the way, WHAT-A-MELON t-shirts are at the Chamber! Be the first kid on the block to wear one!! Adult sizes are $15, Children's sizes and caps are $10.
