The average price for a gallon of regular gas statewide is running  $3.42 a gallon, that's down a nickel in the past week, according to gasbuddy.com. In Louisiana, a gallon’s averaging $3.37, down a penny in the past week. Nationally, the average is $3.63, which is the same as a year ago. Here at home, checking prices this morning in Center, the lowest we found was $3.44 at Walmart, down a penny in the past week.
