Lela Mae Minton, 86, of Center, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, in Nacogdoches.

Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Silas Community of Shelby County with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Gordon Vaughn will officiate.

Born March 1, 1937, Lela is the daughter of James Oscar Vaught Sr. and Lena Frances Vaught. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in the Silas Community of Shelby County.

She is survived by her nephews and niece, Bobby Hendricks of Timpson, Lisa Hendricks of Timpson, Troyce Hendricks of Minden, Louisiana, Roger Hendricks of West Palm Beach, Florida, and DeWayne Hendricks of Timpson; numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by husband, Ben Minton; twin sister, Faye Vaught Hendricks; four sisters; and six brothers.
