Domingo Santana

Domingo Santana, 84, of Center, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in Jalpilla, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Watson & Sons Chapel. Interment will follow at Neuville Cemetery in Shelby County. Born May 12, 1938, in Mexico, Domingo is the son of Fernando Santana and Senaida Guillen Garcia.

Domingo was born and raised in Jalpilla, Guanajuato, Mexico. He was well known in his town for being a hardworking man and for his sense of humor. He took care of the family ranch where he worked cattle and harvested corn. When his time wasn’t spent on the farm, he was home with his loving wife Natividad. When he would come to visit his family in Texas, he always found a way to stay busy working in the woods, helping his sons run the timber business, and entertaining the grandkids with outdoor activities. He loved music and loved to have a good time with his family and friends. He was loved by so many people and will be missed very dearly.

He is survived by his children, Matias and Isabella Santana, Louredes and Juan Chavez, Nicolas and Teresa Santana, Martin and Francisca Santana, Antonio and Maria Santana, Cecilia and Jose Chavez, and Jose and Blanca Santana; grandchildren, Erica Santana, Nehemias Santana, Gerardo Chavez, Armando Chavez, Jaime Chavez, Javier Chavez, Jose Juan Chavez, Alfredo Chavez, Sergio Chavez, Enrique Chavez, Abraham Chavez, Vanessa Santana, Reyna Santana, Joanna Santana, Rebekah Santana, Ruth Santana, Natalia Chavez, Martina Santana, Salvador Santana, Diego Santana, Cristal Santana, Tanya Santana, Yesenia Chavez, Oliver Chavez, Brisa Chavez, Perla Santana, Jose Santana Jr., Abraham Santana, Johnny Santana, and Samantha Santana; siblings, Antonio Santana, Salvador Santana, Bonifacio Santana, Cruz Santana, Damian Santana, Teresa Santana, Benita Santana, Miguel Santana, and Porfiria Santana.

Preceded in death by his wife, Antonia Natividad Maldonado; daughter, Cecilia Chavez Santana; and son-in-law, Juan Chavez.
