James Ray Grimsley

 

James Ray Grimsley, 78, of Tenaha, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in Kaufman.

 

Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2021, at Old Tennessee Cemetery in Shelby County.

 

Born February 24, 1943, James is the son of A.D. Grimsley and Camilla Hall Grimsley.  He served in the United States Marine Corps and later became a maintenance supervisor for Tenaha Housing Authority.  His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and golfing.  James was a lifetime member of Tenaha Athletic Boosters.

He is survived by children, Anthony Grimsley (Diana), Brenda Thompson, Nancy Grimsley, Dawn Faust (Charles), and Michelle Grimsley; grandchildren, Karol Ann, Andrea (Kyle), Michael (Melissa), David Thompson, Josh, Shawna, Jeramy, Kathryn Noe (Chris), Elizabeth, Randell, Terell, and Alyssa; great grandchildren, Perri, Levi, Luke, Jacey, Christopher, Rayleigh, Viktor, Maya, and Charles; siblings, Margaret Bowlin, Nancy Keller, Sissy Vanover (Jim), and Forest Crawford (Sherry).

Preceded in death by great granddaughter, Ava; parents, A.D. Grimsley and Camilla Hall Crawford; siblings, Mary Hansen, J.L. Grimsley, Francis McDaniel, and Bill Grimsley.
