Ruby Browning, 91, of Winnsboro, Louisiana, passed away on March 8, 2018 in San Augustine. She was born on September 14, 1926 in Winnsboro, Louisiana to John Wesley McCoy and Ora Clark McCoy. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Young’s Community Funeral Home in Winnsboro, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Winnsboro. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Young’s Community Funeral Home. 
 
Ruby grew up in Gilbert, Louisiana and Chase, Louisiana. She graduated from Gilbert High School. After graduation, she met Albert Browning on the streets of Winnsboro, Louisiana and the two hit it off immediately. They were married on November 7, 1945 and remained faithfully by one another’s side until Albert’s passing. Ruby’s number one priority was serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved going to church and to gospel singings. There was no better feeling than gathering together with God’s people in fellowship and praise. In her free time, Ruby also enjoyed sewing, gardening and quilting. Some of her most precious and memorable moments were spent surrounded by her family. During her lifetime, Ruby was a member of Freedom Missionary Bible Baptist Church and Temple Baptist Church.
 
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Patricia Heinstchel; grandchildren, Ann Newsom and husband, Gene, DeWayne Netherland and wife, Lori, Terry Netherland, Joseph Hemphill and wife, Carla, Albert David Hemphill and wife, Belinda, Danny Hemphill and wife, Connie, and Sarah Stokes and husband, Denton; great-grandchildren, Blake Smith and wife, Ariel, Travis Newsom, Erica Newsom, Ethan Newsom, Summer Hemphill, Chasity Estis, Jessica Hemphill, Alyvia Hemphill, Dane Hemphill, Heather Daniels, Robert J. Hemphill, Wiley Stokes, and Maddie Stokes; great-great grandchildren, Sophia Dutoit, Braxton Richardson, Liam Estis, Bryant Newsom, Hagen Newsom, Mekanna Daniels, Bella Daniels, Negan Daniels and Casyn Punchard.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Browning; parents, John and Ora McCoy; infant son, John William Browning; daughter, Ruby Jean Netherland; brothers, John McCoy, JR McCoy, Huey McCoy and Oscar McCoy; sisters, Pearl Langston, Opal Kelsey, Jewel Templeton and Katherine Barber; and son-in-law, Glenn Heintschel.
