Dora Lee Bennefield, age 96, of San Augustine, passed from this life on Monday, December 18, 2017, in San Augustine, Texas. 

 

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas  75972.  Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Memorial Garden in San Augustine County. Visitation will be Friday, December 22, 2017, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel beginning at 12 p.m. till 1 p.m.

 

Dora Lee was born to Tassie (Chumley) Green and John Brown Green on January 27, 1921, in San Augustine County, Texas.  She married H.V. Bennefield who has predeceased her. She was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and a member of the Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by, her sons, John Hovie Bennefield and his wife, Patsy of Broaddus and Marvin Ray Bennefield of San Augustine; Her daughter, Mary Genevieve Duke and her husband, Charlie of San Augustine; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Tassie and John Brown Green; her loving husband, H. V. Bennefield; great-grandchildren, Andy Bennefield; Delaina Duncan and grandsons-in-law, Dusty Duncan;  Bill Bailey and Lane Moore, and Daughter-in-law, Ethel Bennefield.
