Harriet Sue Kiker Carter

 

 
Harriet Sue Kiker Carter, 72, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, in Shreveport.
 
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in 
Center with Bro. Wes Hall and Bro. Michael McArthur officiating.  Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.  Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
 
Mrs. Carter was born March 5, 1944, to John Pickens Kiker and Dorthea Earp Kiker.  She taught at F.L. Moffett Primary School in Center for twenty-two years.  Mrs. Carter was a member of Lydia Missionary Baptist Church for over twenty-five years.  There, she served as a Women’s Sunday School Teacher, organist, treasurer and leader of the Girls Auxiliary Group.  She had a lifetime of devotion to her church.

Jay Pickens Carter and wife, Courtney, of Nacogdoches

Ben Kiker and wife, Connie, of Winnie
Dale Kiker and wife, Paula, of Winnie
 
Sister: Sandra Sherman of China
 
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives
 
A host of friends
 
Preceded in death by
Parents: John Pickens Kiker and Dorthea Earp Kiker
Sister-in-law: Johnnie Wilkins
Brother-in-law: Jess Sherman
 
Pallbearers will be Michael Paul Kay, Alan Ray, Sammy O’Rear, Buddy Kay, Jerry Thorton, Jimmy Samaha, Jim Lawson and Robert Cox.  Honorary pallbearer will be Luke Garrett.
