Nelda Weatherly Mitchell, 78, of Lufkin, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Lufkin.
 
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Garrison Funeral Home in Garrison.
 
Mrs. Mitchell was born August 22, 1938, in Nacogdoches, to Vernon Weatherly and Reba Cook Weatherly.  She was a member of Timber Creek Church in Lufkin. She retired from Atkinson Candy Company.

Billy was born July 14, 1968 to Raymond “T Mo” Westbrook and Martha Lynn “Ware” Westbrook in Carthage, Texas. He entered into rest on May 24, 2017 in Garrison, Texas.
 
Services will be 12 Noon, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Garrison Funeral Home, Garrison, Texas. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Nacogdoches, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, May 26, 2017 at Garrison Funeral Home.
 
Billy was very active in his church and enjoyed working with the youth. He was also a member of the Garrison Fire Department for many years.

Cynthia Ann Tate, 57, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on May 19, 2017 at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas surrounded by her loving husband and close family.  She peacefully left this world to enter the gates of Heaven to be with Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.  She was born on November 8, 1959 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Robert Norbert and Mary (Misiak) Korzeniewski. Visitation will be on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, FM 1970N, Timpson, Texas with Bro. Mike Fodge and Carroll Jones officiating. Interment will be at 2PM at Rosewood Park Cemetery, 1884 FM 1844, Longview, Texas 75605. 
 
Cynthia Ann was a very loyal and dedicated wife.  Cynthia dearly loved her husband, Timothy, and her family.  She was a very proud employee of the United States Postal Service.  She thoroughly enjoyed serving her customers throughout the many years she delivered mail as a Rural Carrier.  Cynthia was a devout Christian woman and an active member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Timpson, Texas.  She always showed the upmost genuine love for all her family, community, neighbors, and friends.    She continued to wear a smile throughout her journeys in life.
 
Cynthia is preceded in death by her father, Robert Korzeniewski and brother, Norbert Korzeniewski.  
 
Cynthia is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Timothy Tate of Timpson, Texas; mother, Mary Korzeniewski  of Longview, Texas; mother-in law, Annie Ruth Tate of Timpson, Texas;  siblings, Valerie Kroiss and husband Doug of Dallas, Texas, Robin Knowles of Longview, Texas, Kim Butterfield and husband Bruce of Sherman, Texas, Kevin Korzeniewski of Gilmer, Texas, Rene Korzeniewski and fiancĂ„— Conrad Lux of Dallas, Texas, Maevine Pugh and husband Charles of McKinney, Texas; sister-in-law, Becky Knepp; 6 nieces and 8 nephews; 5 great-nephews and 4 great-nieces; aunts, Grace Rabine and Aurelia Sexton of Michigan; and a host of family and friends.

Thomas Cortez Trussell, age 75 of Huxley passed away Monday May 15, 2017 in Huxley as a result of an accident.

He was born April 7, 1942 in Washington, D.C. to parents Leon Trussell & Adele Kathleen (Steed) Trussell.
 
He served in the U.S. Army where he was a Lt. Col. After retiring and moving to Shelby County, he worked at Wulf Outdoor Sports for several years in the fishing department. He was attending Lydia Missionary Baptist Church in Huxley.

Mrs. Deville was born April 24, 1929, in Mansfield, Louisiana, to Lew Ebarb and Rosa Line Ebarb.  She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Center.

Julious Ellis Windham, 89, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee after a brief illness.
 
Funeral services with full Military and Masonic honors will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 20th, 2017 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center, Texas with Bro. Pat Windham officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00am.
 
Mr. Windham was born March 17, 1928 in Center, Texas to Nancy (Nannie) Seago Windham and Ellis Windham. He served in our country’s military, both in the US Navy and the US Air Force, where he retired after 26 years of service. After retiring from the military, he was employed by Fitzgerald’s Mechanical Contractors in Shreveport, Louisiana for 25 years.  Mr. Windham has volunteered at Barksdale Air Force Base refill pharmacy for the past 12 years. He was a 60 year member of the Joaquin Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Roberts was born May 29, 1942, in Glendale, California.  He served in the United States Army.  Mr. Roberts retired from Center Police Department after 38 years of service.  He was a member of the Center Volunteer Fire Department, Christian Motorcycle Association, and for the last 30+ years, he was “Santa Rides A Motorcycle”.  Mr. Roberts was known for helping with numerous community projects.  As a hobby, he enjoyed woodworking.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at Watson & Sons Funeral Home, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
 
Jessy was born May 9, 1996, in Nacogdoches, to Steve Sigler and Robyn Broomfield Sigler.  She loved spending time with her little girl.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Mr. L. C. Johnson, Sr., better known as “Socky Joe, for Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the County Line Baptist Church, Geneva, TX with the Rev. Gaylon Taylor, Officiating.
 
Burial will be in County Line Cemetery, Geneva, TX under the directions of Sid Roberts Funeral Home,

Bob Bass

 

Bob Bass, 75, of Gary, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Tyler, Texas.  He was born on April 13, 1942, in Timpson, Texas, the son of Ervin Bass and Irene Ivy Bass.  Funeral services for Mr. Bass will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson with Bro. Orval Miller officiating.  Interment will follow at Dixon Cemetery in Shelby County.  Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson.
 
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife: Linda Whitlock Bass of Gary; by sons: Gordon Bass of Timpson and Rodney Bass and his wife Stacey of Timpson; by 4 Step-sons;  Collin, Jason, John and Jeremy Blunt; 2 step-daughter in laws, Becky Blunt and Laura Blunt; by brother: Glyn Bass and his wife Janis of Timpson; 7 grandchildren: Jerry Wayne Bass, Terra Yates, Shelby Sonnier, Kelsey Patton, Briget Robertson, Rodney Gene Bass, II and Charles Wayne Bass; 9 step-grandchildren;  and 7 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by a host of other extended family and close friends.  Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children: Patricia Bell Bass; and by his sister: Janette Foshee.
 
He was raised in the Blair Community of Shelby County and attended Timpson High School.  After high school he proudly served our nation in the United States Army.  His career was made working for the railroad and he retired after many years of service with Union Pacific Railroad.  During his time off and after his retirement Bob enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his family.  Bob loved the outdoors and spent many countless hours tending to his cows, farming, fishing and gardening.
 
Pallbearers will include: John Brandon, Kenny James, Darrell Morrow, Randy Mora, John Grider, and Doye Cantrell.
 
Honorary Pallbearers will include: Charles Joe Hughes and Leonard Hughes.
