Grandchildren, Callie Grace Curbow, Taylor Mackenzie Curbow, Cason Wyatt Curbow, Camden Devant Curbow, Cohen Charles Hairgrove, Hudson Lee Curbow, Claire Layne Hairgrove, Gentry Lynn Curbow & Reese Joanne Curbow.
Brothers, Jimmy Curbow, Billy Curbow, Joey Curbow, sisters Marie Adkison & Jeannie Butler. Numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.

Hank lived all his life in Nacogdoches County in the Garrison area and formed strong bonds and a deep commitment of service with his community. He was raised on his parents farm where he was taught the importance of church, family, hard work, service & honesty. This country life instilled a love for the Lord, family, his country & his fellow man. He was very dedicated to his community & had a strong desire to help others, never striving for recognition, a man with a humble heart. He was a member & former Deacon of Holly Springs Baptist Church. A trustee of Holly Springs Cemetery, member of the Garrison Masonic Lodge & a Shriner Served on the Garrison School Board for 9 years. An active supporter of FFA, an avid hunter & member of Bellview Hunting Club plus service on multiple committees through the years. He was blessed with his destiny to become a farmer & rancher. He definitely was a “homebody” often saying he didn’t like to leave “Route 3”. His idea of enjoyment was riding the back roads which he knew every twist & turn with frequent stops for visiting, gathering at the camp & at home-the more family & friends the better. His life was filled with adventures which has lead to storytelling, never ending memories, slow smiles to body shaking laughter. His country wit & slow talking was a delight to his wife & children. His work, such as penning & working cattle, getting hay baled & put up fence often turned in to a social event. His love of hunting & all the related friendships & bonds that were formed. This love of hunting caused frequent unpleasant encounters with his wife in the early years but eventually she saw she had to accept or leave. His pride and joy was his 3 children and 9 grandchildren.

When not working he spent his childhood roaming the pastures, woods & creek banks. His daddy was a successful hog farmer & Hank bought him out & followed his lead-later branching out into chicken farming, dairying & raising cattle.

In school, he excelled in football, well known as a running back for his speed & agility & juking. He was short but muscular & college scouts came to watch him. A knee injury bringing this to an end. But not the long lasting friendships & notoriety.

He met his future wife when he was in the 7th grade & she was in the 6th & the bond began. They were separated due to his wife’s parents traveling Army life but the bond was never broken.  They were reunited when he was 18 and she was 16, when his wife’s father had to go to Vietnam. They fell in love & the love grew & never ended.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Holly Springs Cemetery in memory of Hank Curbow.
