Willie Everett "Snuffy" Windham

 

 

Willie Everett “Snuffy” Windham, 93, of Center, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, in Center.


Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2019, at Reynolds Cemetery in Shelby County with Bro. Don Windham officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center, beginning at 11 a.m.


Mr. Windham was born July 22, 1925, in Shelby County, to Thomas Windham and Ardie Risinger Windham.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II, where he saw action in the South West Pacific Theatre. Mr. Windham was a saved Christian and was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his children, Kay Lawson and husband Garry of Center, Donald Everett Windham and wife Sherree of Dayton; grandchildren, Stefanie Wagstaff and husband Jimmy of Joaquin, Jeffrey Lawson and Shannon Stewart of Center, William Lawson and Cristy Cooper of Center, Stacey Pauwels and husband Nathan of League City, Jennifer Wenderburg and husband Josh of Deer Park, David Hendricks and wife Shelby of DeBerry, Katie Watson and husband William of Nacogdoches; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Margie Weaver of Nacogdoches, Bobbie Sue Nichols and husband John Henry of Center; brothers, Max Windham of Shelbyville, Leon Windham and wife Cathy of Timpson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.


Preceded in death by wife, Jennie Marie Reynolds Windham; sons, Michael Windham, Randy Windham; parents, Thomas Windham and Ardie Risinger Windham; brothers, Dan Windham, Elvin Windham, Jack Windham, Tom Windham.


Pallbearers will be Mr. Windham’s grandchildren.
