James "Jamie" Wooten, Jr.

 

James “Jamie” Wooten, Jr., 70, of Orange, passed away at his residence, Tuesday, December 25, 2018. He was born on February 16, 1948, to Mildred Strong Wooten and James S. Wooten, Sr., in Orange. A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Strong Cemetery in Shelbyville, Texas. A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

 

Jamie was a Little Cypress-Mauriceville graduate. After graduating high school, he worked for Firestone and international paper in the electrical department. Jamie was a member of the Masonic lodge and loved spending time hunting and fishing. He was known for his welding and craftsmanship fabricating furniture from horseshoes. 

 

Survivors include his son, Tom Wooten and his wife, Miranda; daughter, Kim Lawrence; mother of his children, Sandra Tucker; granddaughter, Hannah Suitts; grandson, Tyler Wooten; sister, Charlotte Wooten, brother, Edgar Wooten; and his four-legged companion, Gizmo.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
