James Linton Crouch

 

 

James Linton Crouch, 68, of San Augustine, Texas passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 27, 2018. James was born March 22, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to James Nelson Crouch and Bonita Faye Williams Crouch.

 

James graduated from Silsbee High School and East Texas Baptist College and graduated from seminary at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He spent his life loving others and teaching them about Christ.

 

James married Lisa Wade on February 14, 1983 in Houston, Texas. They had three children, Anjuli Belle Crouch, Charles Nelson Crouch and William James Crouch. He is also survived by his two sisters, Jean Smith and Bonita Mackey and niece Rhonda Martin and nephews Kenneth Smith and Bryan Venerable.

 

He loved being part of the San Augustine community and loved making people laugh. He taught the lessons of God to his children and loved them beyond measure. His wife was the love of his life.

 

To say James was a character was an understatement. He was kind and generous. He had a quick wit and was slow to anger. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at First Baptist Church, San Augustine, Texas. Interment following at the San Augustine City Cemetery. Visitation will be between the hours of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas  75972.

 

Pallbearers included Kenneth Smith, Sam Waltemeyer, Charles Wade, Scott Budno, Earl Hamm, Mike Jackson, and Rodney Tompkins.
