Jack David Burson

 

 

Jack David Burson, 82, of Shelbyville, passed away July 17, 2018, in The Woodlands.  
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Center Church of Christ.  Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery in Huxley.  
Mr. Burson was born June 20, 1936, in Sentinel, Oklahoma, to Isaac Burson and Annice Hill Burson.  He served in the United State Navy.  Prior to retirement, Mr. Burson was a professor at McNeese State University and Oklahoma State University, where he taught Electronic Technology for 40 years.  Mr. Burson was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed watching movies and airplanes and collecting things and visiting.  He was a member of Center Church of Christ.

Brother: Byron Burson and wife, Sharon, of College Station, Texas

Betty Miller of Amarillo, Texas
Rosalee Cartwright of Morris, Illinois

Brother-in-law: Oliver Earl Russell of Washington State

Parents: Isaac Burson and Annice Hill Burson
Son: David Burson
Brother-in-law: Leonard Russell
 
Pallbearers will be Evan Burson, Chuck Raymond, Cade Burson, Andrea Cuzzupe, J.D. Weldon and Byron Burson II.
