Marjorie Hill Rogers

 

 

Marjorie Hill Rogers, a life-long resident of Logansport, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on May 7, 2018, at the age of 95.  
 
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Interment will follow at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana.  Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
 
Mrs. Rogers was born November 4, 1922, in Logansport, Louisiana, to Oren Morris Hill and Elizabeth Billingsley Hill.  She graduated from Logansport High School and later retired as a greeter and tourist information specialist at Louisiana Tourist Bureau in Logansport.  Her hobbies included family reunions, gardening, sewing, reading, historical information and visiting historical/scenic sites in the ArkLaTex and the Rocky Mountain West.  Mrs. Rogers attended First United Methodist Church of Logansport.  
 
She is survived by
Son: Darryl W. Rogers of Jemez Springs, New Mexico

Husband: Norman Lee Rogers
Parents: Oren Morris Hill and Elizabeth Billingsley Hill
Sister: Melba H. Rogers
Brother: Wilba Hill
Half Brothers: Isaac Heard, Johnnie B. Heard
 
Pallbearers will be Darryl Rogers, Walter Wells, Tom Bailey, William Bailey, Lawrence Blunt and Kenneth Seago.  
 
Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Logansport, 401 Gum Street, Logansport, Louisiana 71049 or to various charitable organizations, such as veteran’s organizations and religious organizations such as Norman Vincent Peale and others.
