Mary Ruth Shewmaker Tyre, 75, of Center, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018, in Nacogdoches.

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Don Windham officiating.  Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

 

Mary was born September 26, 1942, in Dallas, to Markus Shewmaker and Dolly Mae McKnight Shewmaker. She was married to her forever sweetheart, Charles, for forty-eight years, until his passing on July 3, 2007.  In her younger days, she enjoyed driving across the country in Charles’ big truck and seeing the world, particularly the mountains.  She enjoyed cooking, reading, watching her soaps, and being with her family.  Mary was the glue that made her family stick.  She always went above and beyond for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was their rock!  Seeing them is what she looked forward to the most.  Her heart was full when they were around.  She also loved her church family and was proud to say she loved the Lord.  Her family will miss her greatly, but is comforted by knowing she is rejoicing with Charles, and will be a guardian angel watching over them.
