Doris Loggins

 

 

Doris Mabel Hardy Loggins, 92, was born on February 6, 1926, and went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2018. 
 
Doris was the daughter of Edna (Cox) and Curtis Johnson Hardy.  Doris married the love of her life, Louis Leon Loggins on February 2, 1953, and together they resided in San Augustine and raised their children.  Doris was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family, attending singings at church, and gardening.  Together, she and her husband worked the land raising livestock and truck farming.  Doris never met a stranger and was an active member of Rosevine Missionary Baptist Church until her illness.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who served her family selflessly.
 
 
Doris is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Martha (Thomas) Johnson of Lufkin, Patricia (Robert) Beard of Livingston, Shirley (Roy) Reynolds of Lufkin, Judy (Rod) Cramer of Tyler, Barbara Wesley of Lufkin, sons Robert Loggins of Lufkin and Bill Loggins; Sisters: Jo Hardy (Johnny) Trahan, Ople Hardy (Truman) Hyden, Diane Hardy (Clivey) Sullivan, and sister-in law Mary Hardy, Brothers: Marlin (Lanell) Hardy, Paul (Linda) Hardy, and Jimmy (Peggy) Hardy.
 
 
Doris had ten grandchildren all who loved her very much.  Melissa (Jeff) Haney, Kevin (Amy) Gregston, James Beard, Brandi Booth, Shanna Powers, Ryan (Shelley) Reynolds, Christi (Chris) Berling,  Jason Wesley, Phillip Loggins, Paige (Shane) Dykes.  Sixteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
 
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters: Bobbie Jean Engelman, Elaine Patterson (Hoyt); brothers: Earl Hardy (Evalena) and Marvin Hardy, and brother-in-law Maurice Tyre; Brothers and sisters-in-law: Sam and Lizzie Loggins, Horace and Virgie Lee Loggins, J.B. and Louise Loggins,  Pat Loggins and Willie Mae Loggins Collier, Altie Loggins Wright, Temple and Leona Loggins, Ethel Doyen, and Abbie Ford.

Funeral services for Doris Loggins will be 2 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2018  at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel in San Augustine.  The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Wyman Roberts.  Interment will follow in the Chinquapin Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chinquapin Cemetery Association, PO Box 153014, Lufkin, TX 75915 or The Joseph House, PO Box 150554, Lufkin, TX 75915.
