Mrs. Parker was born on July 24, 1917 to Walter C. and Ollie Pou Peddy, near Tenaha, Texas.  She was the middle child of five children.  A few short days after her high school graduation, Agnes married the love of her life, John Benford (Ben) Parker.  Together, they raised two daughters, Carolyn and Sandra (“Sissy”).
Although she spent most of her life as a homemaker, she also served as a bookkeeper for Ben’s service station.  Agnes was an excellent seamstress, and a fabulous cook.  Each Sunday during football season, you could find Agnes watching and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys.  She had been a fan since the team’s inception.  For her 100th birthday, the Dallas Cowboys organization gifted her with autographed photos of both the team and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

Mrs. Parker is survived by five generations of family.  Her daughter, Sandra Gardner and husband, Frank Gardner of Katy, Texas; and her son-in-law, Bob Almand of Lufkin, Texas, survive her.  Four grandchildren also survive her: Scott Almand of Lufkin, Texas; Tim Almand and wife, Tammy, of Lufkin, Texas; Angela Gardner Mills and husband, Mark, of Katy, Texas; and Ted Gardner and wife, Marianne, of Houston, Texas.  She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Casi Almand Burchinal and husband, Skyler, of Paris, Texas; Cody Almand and wife, Mary, of Lufkin, Texas; Micah Mills and Emily Mills, of Katy, Texas; Ben Gardner, Luke Gardner and Kate Gardner, of Houston, Texas.  Agnes was also blessed with three great-great-grandchildren, Addisyn Burchinal, Alyvia Burchinal, and Avery Burchinal, all of Paris, Texas. She is also survived by two brothers, Walter Peddy and wife, Jean, of Tenaha, Texas, and Julian Peddy, and wife Elaine, of Tenaha, Texas, as well as a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews.
