George Byron Brodnax

 

George Byron Brodnax, 86, of Center, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017, at his residence.
 
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 4, 2017, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Rev. Sherry Harding officiating.  A masonic graveside will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
 
Mr. Brodnax was born September 13, 1931, in Marthaville, Louisiana, to Thomas Byron Brodnax and Katherine Youngblood Brodnax.  He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.  He was a member of Sam Houston Masonic Lodge #32 in Shelbyville, Chapter and Council in Deridder, Louisiana, Shriner’s – Tyler Temple, Scotish Rite-Orient of Dallas and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 903 in Joaquin. He was also a member of Shelbyville Methodist Church in Shelbyville.  
 
He is survived by

Karen Armstrong and husband, John, of Overton
Katherine Ham of Brentwood, Tennessee

Jason Brodnax of Houston
