James Lowell Bogue

 

 
James Lowell Bogue, 84, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 in Timpson, Texas. He was born on June 14, 1933 in Timpson, Texas to Joseph Alexander and Ollie (Stilley) Bogue. Funeral services for Mr. Bogue will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Timpson, Texas with Bro. William Dee Daniel and Bro. Richard Jones officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson, Texas. 
 
James was born and raised in Timpson, Texas.  He graduated from Timpson High School in 1950 at the age of 16.  Mr. Bogue pursued his love for football and attended Panola College on a football scholarship before transferring to Stephen F. Austin State University to pursue his football career along with obtaining a Master’s in Education.  James married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Young, in 1951.   He and Barbara had three wonderful children.  James spent over 40 years in Education serving as a Coach, Principal, and Superintendent at multiple school districts, including, Woodsboro, Central Heights, Garrison, and Timpson before retiring.  After retirement, he continued to serve many Districts around the surrounding areas.  Mr. Bogue enjoyed all outdoor activities.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing dominoes, and spending time with his family.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  James loved the Lord and loved people, especially his family.  He was a member of the Lions Club, served on the Timpson Genealogical Library, and served as the City of Timpson Judge for many years.  James continued to serve the Lord, his church, and his community until his final days.  James was a member of First Baptist Church Timpson, a deacon, and held numerous positions throughout the years in his church.
 
James was surrounded by a family filled with love. He is survived by his faithful wife of 66 years, Barbara; daughters, Becky Talk and husband Bill, Diane Marshall and husband Ray; son, Dr. Donald Bogue and wife Lauralee; sisters, Bette Bunger and Brenda Beasley and husband Felton; grandchildren, Lauren Talk, Melissa Harrington and husband Mike, Evan Talk and wife Joanna, Matt Marshall, Nathan Marshall, Jessica Leavins and husband Chis, Angela Bogue, James Bogue; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Natalie Harrington, Abilene, Boaz, Sabine, and Fisher Marshall, Ryland, Wyatt, and Haven Leavins, and Presley Aguilar; and numerous friends and family members that will miss him dearly.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents.  The family is being served by Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, Texas.
