Gay Nell Gunnels, 84, of Center, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016, in Houston.

 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with Bro. Jim Moss and Bro. Larry Byrd officiating.  Interment will follow at Spann’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Center.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at Watson & Sons Funeral Home, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

 

Ms. Gunnels was born June 13, 1932, in Center, to Ira Jones and Isabelle Waller Jones.  After 20 years of service, she retired from Center ISD, where she worked as a Teacher’s Aide.  Ms. Gunnels loved flower gardening.  She was a charter member and was the oldest living member of Neuville Baptist Church in the Neuville Community.

Melissa Parsons and husband, Mark, of Spring

Daniel Holloway and wife, Kelli, of Timpson

Sister-in-law: Claudine Buckner of Center

 

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
