SCSP Queen's Contest Postponed This Year

The 61st annual Shelby County Sheriff’s Posse PRCA Rodeo is June 6 & 7, and according to Ann Blackwell, the rodeo queen, duchess and princess contest for this year only will be postponed.

Ms. Blackwell said this will give the committee time to re-group and come back strong for next year. She added there’s currently a wonderful court; they’ll just work for two years.

She advised ladies to keep the Sheriff’s Posse Queen’s contest on your radar for next year. Again, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo Queen’s contest has been postponed for this year’s rodeo.

As for the rodeo performances, they’re set for 7:30 nightly at the Shelby County Expo Center. Tickets are $5, and can be purchased at Boles Feed, Triple J Feed and at Wright Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Center. Kids 6 and under are free.

There will be a calf scramble each night for kids 10 and under with cash prizes. On Saturday night only, anyone wearing a western hat will receive $1 off their admission ticket at the gate.

Entertainment will be provided by three different East Texas Equestrian Drill Teams. The Rustlers, the 4-8 year olds; The Young Guns, the 8-14 year olds; and The Roughriders, age 15 & up.
