Chamber's Education Committee to Recognize Teachers Today

As the school year winds down, the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce will salute the talented teachers throughout the county’s school districts at 4 o’clock this afternoon when a teacher appreciation reception is held at the Windham Civic Center.

 

Kelly Lucas is chairperson of the chamber’s education committee. She says teachers of the year from each campus will be recognized, and the event allows the chamber to express gratitude and appreciation to educators throughout Shelby County.

 

She adds the Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year will be chosen from the nominees submitted by each campus.

 

The Teacher of the Year each campus are:

F.L. Moffett Primary School – Sherry Lawson

Center Elementary School – Olinda Hale

Center Intermediate School – Daniel Driver

Center Middle School – Sheila Haddox

Center High School – Chris Watlington

Excelsior ISD – Jennifer Cecil

 

Joaquin Elementary School – Terri Smith

Joaquin Junior High School – Madison Carrington

Joaquin High School – Marilyn Stewart

 

S.W. Carter Elementary – Phyllis Horton

Shelbyville Middle School – Stephany Carter

Shelbyville High School – Cole Harrison

 

Timpson Elementary – April Ramsey

Timpson Middle School – Jill Hailey
